this is awesome! do you know anything about this colony or its caretakers? i never thought about giving my feral sofas, pretty swank.
Actually, I met the man who maintains the colony with the couches (they were discarded from a housing project where I presume he works). In fact, he opened up the gate to let me in. Very nice guy. He commented that he had a cat at home and “Since I’ve had him cut he’s gotten HUGE!”. I commented that in this respect felines and hominids are not terribly dissimilar.
Heather – as always excellent photos – I can tell you that the cats lounging in the housing project refuse area were TNRd back in the fall of 2008 and any new cats(all of whom sadly have been dumped/abandoned – have been freindly enough to be removed and adopted)
as for the other – I know the artist of the Jesus loves Cats painting – but not the colony.
FYI: I am of the distinct impression that the muted calico I shot at the “Jesus Loves Cats” colony is not feral. She had a companion, another calico, which clearly was.
