Williamsburg Street Art Selections: Mail Theft Is A Punishable Crime
The latter most image (which along with its two predecessors is by an artist called Kid Acne) reminds me of former mail delivery woman I once had. She was a tiny woman of perhaps 45 years of age. She reminded me of younger version of Ruth Bader Ginsberg. AN INCREDIBLY ANGRY younger version of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. One time she chewed out a friend of mine for having Power Puff Girl stickers on her mailbox. She didn’t: the mailbox in question belonged to a neighbor. But my friend couldn’t muster the nerve to belabor this point. She simply accepted her punishment.
God, I miss that woman.

P.S.: Special props go out to Luna Park for bringing this phenomenon to my attention. Great catch!
A Moment of Williamsburg Zen: Bayard Street
Why can’t I shake the feeling this was not a product of happenstance?

Williamsburg Street Art Du Jour: North 7 Street
Amusing enough, next to this assemblage is a sign prohibiting material being left in front of the building.
They never thought to prohibit stuff being left ON said building.
So the learning curve goes in northside Williamsburg.

From The Greenpoint Grapevine: What’s Up At Silent h?
What’s curious about this item is while my tipster is in Greenpoint, the establishment in question is in Williamsburg. It happens to involve one of my favorite restaurants: Silent h. Here’s the buzz:
Silent h is closed. A new partner has been brought on board, they are going to changeĀ the menu and give the place a make-over.
I decided to do a walk-by today to see what’s up.
Sure enough, the storefront is shuttered.
And there is evidence of interior work being done.
Anyone have the 411 as to what is going on here? I’m dying to know.
(going into garden spring roll withdrawal)

Reader Contribution Du Jour: Home
This item (which hails from the intersection of Metropolitan Avenue and Berry Street) comes courtesy of a lady named Donna. What really makes this image if you ask me are the remains of a flier from Diana Reyna’s latest (and I will add successful) run for the 34th City Council seat. This somehow pulls it all together. Great find, Donna!

The above gent with an overbite may not look familiar to you, but I am pretty certain you have heard about him. He is none other than the pooch who discovered Sidney Lumet’s Lifetime Achievement Award in a bit of Greenpoint shrubbery: Fred T. Sanford!
