New York Shitty Day Ender: Lazy Days
Now that it is September I suppose summer is officially over. It certainly didn’t feel that way to yours truly today. The weather was so deliciously nice I did something I rarely, if ever, do: absolutely nothing. On that note I will conclude today’s lite offerings with some summery street art from Williamsburg. Enjoy!

Methinks I saw this fetching feline on North 3 Street. I forget. In any case it gives me an excuse to post the following videos of a couple of (not-so-bad) Bushwick boys I have written about recently: Avon and Stringsdale.
Anyone interested in giving these furkids a home should email their very human (co)stepmother at: shawnandkenny (at) earthlink (dot) net

When I found this delightful item from Rheingold Room (entitled “Park Your TV”) not only did it give me a much needed chuckle but it also reminded me that it has been awhile since I have hit you with some of north Brooklyn’s finest street furniture. Follows is a selection of my favorite finds. Enjoy!

From The New York Shitty Inbox: Shrooms
Filed under: 11211, 11222, Greenpoint, Greenpoint Brooklyn, Greenpoint Magic, Williamsburg, Williamsburg Brooklyn
When I arrive home after an afternoon of knocking around the Bronx to find the following in my inbox (courtesy of A Perfect Bag), well, I simply must pass it along.
So this is what happens when I leave our fair burgh for a few paltry hours: ritualistic vegetable abuse! As some of you might recall something very similar to this happened a couple of years ago on Bedford Avenue. It would appear our perpetrator has since progressed from tomatoes to mushrooms. What’s next— chard? Potatoes? Rutabagas? Only time will tell. In any case no one cannot pin this one on me— I have an alibi!

TONIGHT: MJ Memorial Birthday Sing-Along
Filed under: 11211, East Williamsburg, East Williamsburg Brooklyn, Williamsburg, Williamsburg Brooklyn
Okay, first and foremost I want to make it clear that am not, was not ever a big fan of the King of Pop. But I know a number of folks reading this tome probably are. What’s more, they (you) might be looking for something fun and free to do tonight.
For this reason I would like to make it known that starting at 9:00 p.m. this evening Legion will be hosting a Memorial Birthday Sing Along. Among the items promised at this event are a costume contest, dance-off, live “Beat It” dancer and a “pre-show” of Michael Jackson footage. If like like MJ, it probably doesn’t get any better than this. Check it out!

New York Shitty Day Starter: Old School
One of the perquisites of a recession is once a store goes out of business and the awning comes down beautiful old signs like this— which comes from Grand Street— are revealed. I really hope whoever takes the space keeps it. It’s really neat!
