A few more film shoots in the north Brooklyn area have been brought to my attention via a tipster. They are as follows:
1. The “Good Wife” will be filming “exterior scenes” at 50 Bayard Street (between Union and Lorimer Street) on Thursday, August 4, 2001 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
2. The “Good Wife” will be filming interior scenes at 287 North Henry Street (between Meserole Avenue and Norman Avenue) August 4, 2011. The estimated time is 4:00 p.m. – 3:00 a.m.
3. My good friend, “Girls”, will be filming on Harrison Place between Stewart Avenue and Gardiner Avenue AND 220 Ingraham Street August 5, from 6:00 p.m. – 4:00 a.m.
4. “Girls” will also be occupying my corner of north Brooklyn (that being north ‘Point) August 4th and 5th:
- “Exterior scenes” at 193 Meserole Avenue, between 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. (estimated)
- “Exterior scenes” at 104 India Street, between 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. On August 4th only.
As some of you might recall I took umbrage at a “legal notice” posted by a “Girls” film crew recently. This:
A thoughtful commenter brought this to my attention: New York State’s “Right of Publicity Law”, Article 5, subsection 50.
Know your rights, folks. Better yet: exercise them!

Greenpoint Halloween Watch Part II: Eye On 97 Russell Street
Okay. So I have given everyone the good news that 648 Humboldt Street has started construction on this year’s fright fest. Well, I have even more Halloween happiness to impart: their friendly rivals at 97 Russell Street are up to some ghoulish goodness of their own!
Some of you might recall the lady behind this wonderful display got off to a late start last year. This was because she took a trip to Egypt!
She has gotten off to a much earlier start this year…
and it’s looking good!!!
If or when the opportunity arises do swing by and see this wonderful display unfold for yourself. If you happen to catch her working be sure to say “hi” and thank her for making Halloween a lot more fun for all of us. She’s a really sweet lady!
Miss Heather
P.S.: On a Russell-related note, today the Lutheran Church of the Messiah got a make-over courtesy of our friends, The Good Wife.
Shalom!
The Good Wife Comes To Greenpoint
The Mister just found this slid under the front door of our apartment building. My favorite passage reads as follows:
We are aware that filming can be an inconvenience, but please know that we will be making effort to keep disruptions to a minimum.
How can one minimize “disruptions” which arise from using both sides of two city blocks as your personal parking lot/trailer park? Note the generous three days notice. Gee, thanks.
