A fellow named Mark writes (regarding the above image, which I posted October 2nd):
Hey,
So I was clicking through my tumblr the other day and discovered a picture someone took of one of my pieces has 7k notes on Tumblr. Kinda shocked about that, but its cool there’s that much interest in a piece. This photo (You May Paint Over Me But I Will Still Be Here) you took is my street art:Proof:Any chance you’d be willing to credit me on that page with my name, help a brother get more of his art out into the universe?Would be much appreciated.
Straight up: as many of you, gentle readers, are quite aware I get a mite bit angry when folks (“journalists” mostly) take credit for my work. Therefore it is only right that I give Mr. Samsonovich credit for his work. What’s more, I fancied quite a few of his pieces. Take a moment and give ’em a looksee— and thanks for contacting me, Matt!
The Word On The Street, Part II: Special Post-Banksy Edition

As spied today on East 7th Street. On a related note (and in closing), I want to give a shout-out to this piece by Jilly Ballistic…
and thank her for giving one! I hung it next to our front door (underneath a sign reading “Want Candy”*) for the edification of trick or treaters as I was handing out chocolaty goodness yesterday. It elicited some interesting responses. For example:
What is a Banksy?
And (from a woman amused by this, after I told her about the previous):
How did he not know? Doesn’t he read the news?
I guess not.
*Some of the responses to this were quite fascinating. But that is the subject of another post— perhaps even an essay.
