Tomorrow, April 11, the folks at Empty Cages Collective have not one but two events lined up. Firstly, they will having an adoption event from noon until 5:00 p.m. at NYC Pet Supplies:

Brooklyn, New York 11211

Later that evening there will be a benefit at the Rockstar Bar featuring Nathan Carpenter, Morgan O’Cane, Sturgeon, Zhenia Golov, Hipster Holocaust, and DJ Marvelous Hagler with proceeds going to Empty Cages Collective. Doors open at 9:00 p.m. and admission will be determined on a “sliding scale” (think anywhere between $5.00 – $10.00— either way that’s pretty cheap!).

To close on a related note I simply must share this slide show featuring some of Empty Cage’s newest residents. WARNING: the following footage is incredibly cute. Enjoy!

These adorable fur kids were born on February 21st to a feral mother at Empty Cage’s facility. As you can see they’re happy, healthy and too damned precious for words!

Felines Lost & Found

I have a couple of pet-related items to relay to you. In the interest of brevity (it’s been a long day) I have decided to put them in one quick and easy post. Here it goes.

LOST

mingus

First up, Mingus the cat has gone MIA. I’m not too certain where his home is but this flier hails from Huron Street. So all of you who live in the general area keep an eye out for this little fella. It goes without saying (but I’m to say it anyway) if you have seen him or know of his whereabouts please contact his owner at the above telephone number. Thanks!

FOUND

This item comes courtesy of Laura Hofmann. She writes:

This cat showed up today on our 5th floor fire escape… He wondered onto a brick gargoyle on the front of the building. Fortunately, my son was able to reach him and rescue him. We’ve knocked on many doors in our apt building. Looks like he doesn’t belong to anyone here. The cat has a purple collar on it.
If you know who this brave little guy (or gal) belongs to please contact Laura via email at  bargeparkpals (at) msn (dot) com. In the meantime their building’s super is keeping him/her safe and warm in their building’s basement overnight.

Last up, for those of you who do not have a cat (but very much want one) Empty Cages Collective will be having another adoption event at NYC Pet Supplies this Saturday, January 31 starting at 1:00 p.m. Check it out!

Tomorrow Empty Cages Collective will be having an adoption event at NYC Pet Supplies in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Their finest cats and kittens of all sizes rescued from the streets of New York City are promised to be in attendance, so why not swing by and say hi? As I have written before, all of ECC’s cats and kittens have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and tested for feline leukemia and FIV. There is a $75.00 adoption fee and all adoptions require an approved application. You can get a sneak peek of what awaits you tomorrow by pointing and clicking your way over to Empty Cages Petfinder page.

Back here in Greenpoint the ASPCA’s mobile clinic will be offering cheap/free spay and neutering at Petland Discounts starting at 7:00 a.m. As the flier clearly states this is purely a first come, first served affair. My advice: get there EARLY.

Last up, I have been woefully remiss about passing along these wonderful works of art available at District Dog. My favorite is the “Vomitron Series”. However, there are also plenty of offerings for all you dog lovers out there. Best of all is the price; they’re a mere $25.00 a pop! Check ’em out.
