This item comes courtesy of a lady named Allison. She writes:
This flyer was on my apartment door near the corner of McGuinness and Kent St. Saw the owners walking around squeaking a ball. Hope we can help bring her home! I emailed dog habitat rescue also, and will follow up with any info. Thanks for your help!
If anyone reading this has seen Mala or knows of her whereabouts please contact her owners at the above-listed telephone number. She is clearly missed!
UPDATE, 6:24 p.m.: Mala has found her way home!

Spotted On McGuinness Boulevard At Huron Street: Mixed Signals
A couple weeks ago the Mister and I were dismayed— and amused— when we noticed a pedestrian crosswalk signal hanging on by a prayer from a light post at the above-mentioned intersection. We forgot to call 311, but no worries; it would appear one of our fellow Greenpointers had the presence of mind to do so because it has since been repaired!
Sort of.
Whoops.

Live From Green Street: FIRE!
Today has proven to be an eventful one for yours truly. First there was my sojourn around north ‘Point culminating in pointing out chicanery at 400 McGuinness Boulevard to an employee of the Department of Buildings and, as of fifteen minutes ago, it was doing a little grocery shopping only to discover a rather large fire on Green Street between Provost Street and McGuinness Boulevard. I have put out feelers to learn exactly what happened, but in the meantime I will share with you another account from another woman who happens to be named Heather!
She writes:
See attached photos. There are literally about 20 fire trucks and about 15 ambulances! Seems that they got it out, but there might be a lot of injuries. NUTS!!!
If anyone has the 411 on what happened please share via comments or email at missheather 9at) thatgreenpointblog (dot) com. Thanks!

Signs of activity have been spotted at the former (and very cool) sandwich shop which once graced the corner of McGuinness Boulevard and Freeman Street! A chap named Chris writes In an email entitled “Dunkin Donuts on Mcguinness!”

I checked for myself and sure enough: we’re getting a Dunkin Donuts. While I generally dislike chain stores and franchises (I prefer to keep my money “local” by patronizing smaller, “mom and pop” businesses) this may not be a bad thing. The surrounding area 9which is largely industrial) is not very well served in terms of eateries. In addition, this will be conveniently placed near the last stop in Greenpoint for the B62. I have little doubt this establishment will be a god-send to java-craving (and hungry) commuters!
