This scene hails from outside Acapulco Deli & Restaurant— one of my favorite places. Otherwise I suspect you, dear readers, have noticed the new “lay-out”. I hate it and it will be temporary. It would appear the theme I was using (Atahualpa) was providing a nice little back door for someone to do his nefarious work (READ: redirecting my site to a host of others he owns). Only time will tell. In the meantime current/would-be bloggers beware!

THIS WEEKEND: Kent Street Annual Block Party!
It’s that time of year again; time for the Kent Street Block Association’s Annual Block Party. A church history exhibit, musical performances, stoop sales and a raffle will for the offing. While perhaps not an entire afternoon’s worth of entertainment, this block party is always fun to check out. Go!

Spotted At 1074 Manhattan Avenue: No Blablazo
This morning I was distraught to see that the El Blablazo tree pit, a pre-eminent piece of north ‘Point pride was no more. I asked a gentleman on the premises what gives. He explained to me that individuals from the Greenpoint Hotel and the adjoining 3/4 house had taken patronizing said seating late at night. They were becoming a nuisance (READ: loitering, leaving trash and drug paraphernalia for which the owner of 1074 Manhattan Avenue was fined by the Department of Sanitation) so they had no other choice but to remove it. Follows are a few images from the better days of El Blablazo.
