Greenpoint Photo Du Jour: Hanging Out
This photograph features two of north Greenpoint’s more notable citizens: Marty and the inimitable Philip Norris. The latter may look serious but I assure you he has plenty to smile about. Firstly, Philip will be celebrating a birthday this upcoming weekend. Secondly, a book of his poetry is set to be published next month. Congratulations on both, Philip!

I found these fliers around Manhattan Avenue and Greenpoint Avenue this afternoon while running errands. If you have seen Anna or know of her whereabouts (she was last seen around Eagle Street) please contact her loved ones at the above-listed telephone numbers. I have little doubt they are worried sick. Thanks!

UPDATE, 10:49 p.m.: This afternoon I spied a few more additions.
From The New York Shitty Inbox: Toys R Us
This item comes courtesy of a lady named Sarah. She writes:
Hi,
I am with Sarah on this 100%. The Greenpoint Toy Center— despite its rather diminutive appearance— is actually a very well stocked toy store. I say this as an occasional customer. Please show your support for local business by patronizing this often overlooked and underrated establishment. Pop up stores come and go. The Greenpoint Toy Center has been with us a very long time. Let’s help ensure they stick around!

Greenpoint Photo Du Jour: Smile!
There is a very good reason this, my very favorite ice cream lady, is smiling. Apparently our very own Corner Frenzy will be featured in the New York Daily News! Mazel tov!

UPDATE, 1:38 pm.: When I told my ice cream maven I was featuring her today she— and her mother— were excited. She inquired:
How do my boobs look?
I replied:
I don’t honestly remember. I’m not into that kind of thing. It’s a really cute picture, tho. Do you want me to send the Mister down to look at your boobs?
She demurred— but added:
I’ve got the two scoops. Come on down and get ’em!
Indeed.
