It isn’t— but we all know enforcement of rules and regulations (such as those precluding the obstruction of our city’s sidewalks which is what appears to be happening here) are scatter-shot at best. I wonder how a mobility-impaired person is supposed to negotiate this? Anyone?

Those of you who love vintage/faded advertisements take note: one of the finest examples our city has to offer, the Syrup of Figs ad at 96 Greenpoint Avenue (as seen above), will not be with us much longer. Follows is why:
a four story, eight family apartment building is slated to “move in” next door. Those of you who have always wanted to revisit and/or photograph this gem but never got around to it the time is now. Once the plywood fence of death goes up (and it has) the clock is ticking….

Thought of the day: if the leaders of our community want to attract tourists, perhaps they should crackdown on speculators/developers who do not maintain their properties, illegally occupy the sidewalk and/or street with their “accoutrements”*, etc.? Is it just me or are our electeds sort of missing the forest for the trees here?
*This a nice way of saying shit.
