LAST GASP: Feel The Magic!
Once in a blue moon this neighborhood even catches me with my pants down. Or in this case: while uploading video footage. Therefore I can only bear witness to what I beheld fifteen minutes ago: a horde of zombies headed down Green Street to their final destination, the Mark Bar. Before doing so they took a moment to menace the Viridian. We’re talking howling caterwauling, clawing and tapping umbrellas against windows. Simply put, it was beautiful.
This one’s for you, Zombie Crawlers. From the bottom of my heart!

Garden Spot Photo du Jour: A Very Greenpoint Stroller Mom
Filed under: 11222, Crazy Cat Lady, Greenpoint, Greenpoint Brooklyn, Greenpoint Magic
As you can probably ascertain by today’s delayed postage, I decided to table the blog for awhile and go for a walk. The way I see it, winter will be upon us soon enough so I should enjoy every last drop of sunshine and shirtsleeve weather while I can. It was on Green Street that I encountered a threesome who shares my sentiment—Â even they do not have to wear shirtsleeves (or pants, for that matter).
The occupants of this double-decker “stroller” for the fashionable furry set are (from top to bottom): King Billy, Milo (to the right) and Chuck Norris (to the left). Yes, you just read me correctly: somewhere in our fair burgh there is a cat named Chuck Norris— and he likes (or at least doesn’t seem to mind) touring our streets in a stroller.
In the course of our conversation his “person” told me that at some point she plans to adopt a brother for Chuck and his buddy Milo. His name will be Clint Eastwood. I wonder if they make triple-deckers?

Last Gasp: Closing Time at Casanova’s
It was an evening of business mixed with pleasure at Casanova Restaurant tonight. I didn’t mind: giving Casanova my business is a pleasure. The Mister talked baseball with the guys and I made gaffes over good vittles.
1. I said Hunter was safe. They disagreed. I reached a compromise:
In New York City Hunter is out, but as far as I’m concerned he was safe. Please do not spit in my food. (laughter)
2. True confession time:
I’m a Met’s fan… but I’d rather see the Yankees win than the Angels. Los Angeles sucks. (more laughter)
Casanova’s food is very nice for the price (TIP: ask for the arugula salad. It’s not on the menu, but if/when it is available order it!). The atmosphere is a delightfully unpretentious. It is one of the last true old school restaurants/hang-outs left in North Brooklyn.
What’s more, they’re great guys (even if they are Yankees fans). You can peruse their menu by clicking here.

Greenpoint Photos Du Jour: DISGRACE
Filed under: 11222, Bloomblight, Greenpoint, Greenpoint Brooklyn, Greenpoint Magic
These photographs (which document the state of advanced decay and neglect to be found West Street between Green and Kent) were taken today, October 13, at around 2:30 p.m. I think they speak for themselves. This is inexcusable.

New York Shitty Day Ender: Highlights From The Robot Monkey World Chimpionship
It took me awhile to get them uploaded (YouTube has been malfunctioning) but here they are. My stunning defeat and the final match of this weekend’s Robot Monkey World Chimpionship. Who won, you ask? You’ll have to watch to find out. Enjoy!

Has Anyone Seen Helen?
I found this flier on Green Street as I was headed to T.B.D. to see how the Robot Monkey preparations are going (they’re going well, if you’re lest you are wondering). If anyone has seen Miss Helen please contact her people at the above telephone number. She is sorely missed. Thanks!
