Now At The Production Lounge: Body Heat
Okay, I am a little behind the game on this one (apparently the first round came to pass last weekend) but when I saw these fliers at Save Rite Wine & Liquor I simply HAD to share the good news. Exactly what is “Body Heat”, you ask? The other side of this flier should clarify matters.
You can always leave it to our friends at the Production Lounge to keep things classy in the Garden Spot!

LAST GASP: “Lucky” Is Lost!
Filed under: 11222, Crazy Cat Lady, Greenpoint, Greenpoint Brooklyn, Greenpoint Magic
Okay. I have fallen behind in my reporting on the state of our local shop cats. I’ve been busy. What’s more, the Mister has been experiencing some, um, gastronomical distress of the rainbow smile variety of late. Hillary Clinton once said it takes a village to raise a child. If what I have observed the last few days is any indication I’d say it takes a pride to watch the Mister vomit. For reasons only known to them our felines find this act— in which they all indulge with blase abandon— fascinating. Maybe it’s love? All I know is I had to clean up a pool of spilled pink hair dye and have a kitten with one pink toe as a result. The party never stops at Chez Shitty. But I digress.
I first became aware of Lucky (whose place of work and play is the P.A. Deli Grill Grocery at 145 Franklin Street, as seen above) via my buddy Rowan.
She writes:
the most bad-ass bodega kitten in Greenpoint takes a much-needed breather after giving attitude to 3 dogs, one jogger and engaging in endless pouncing.
If you have seen Lucky or know of his whereabouts please contact his peeps at P & A Deli. STAT. Thanks!

Adoptable Cuties: Meet Peggy Sue, Spider & Rocky
As I wind down for this upcoming (and purportedly HOT) weekend I thought it would be nice to feature some adoptable pups from Greenpoint’s very own Dog Habitat. To this end Rob Maher and a vollie were kind of enough to introduce me to three of their very cutest: Peggy Sue, Daisy and Rocky.
Here’s Spider (AKA: Daisy).
Here’s Peggy Sue.
And here’s Rob giving us the 411 on these two ladies.
Last up here’s my personal favorite: Rocky.
This volunteer, Laura, was kind enough to help coax a good photograph of this lively two year old Jack Russell Terrier. Rocky was recently surrendered by his owner because he could no longer afford to take care of him (this kind of thing is regrettably becoming more common given today’s economy). If exceptionally curious pups are your thing, this is your man. Follows is some footage of Rocky doing what he does best: frolic!
How much of a charmer is this guy, you ask? Enough so to make a Bull Terrier named Maggie jump for joy. Or something. In any case this is too funny not to post!
Anyone interested in giving any of these three cuties the loving home they so richly deserve should contact the folks at Dog Habitat via telephone at (347) 601-8678 or via email at: rescue (at) doghabitat (dot) org.
Thanks!

Urban Fur: ?
This exceptionally friendly fellow hails from Franklin Street. He (she?) seems too friendly and well fed to be a stray. Anyone out there know his (or her) story?
