TOMORROW: North Brooklyn Waterfront Fundraiser

This item comes courtesy of the peeps over at NAG. Tomorrow, May 8, starting at 2:00 p.m. they will be throwing a fundraiser at Greenpoint’s very own Diamond Bar whose proceeds will go towards beautifying and maintaining the Kent Avenue and Franklin Street along Bushwick Inlet. This is something which I can personally attest needs to be done. Check it out!

Greenpoint Halloween Watch: Zombie Crawl &

As All Hallow’s Eve draws closer I feel compelled to pass along a couple of ways you can while away the evening and have a ghoulishly good time. Here they are!

Greenpoint’s very own Zombie Crawl will kick off at 8:00 p.m. at the Diamond Bar. Judging from the parade of festively fettled (and intoxicated) zombies that besieged my block last year, I’d say this is the thing to do. NOTE: there will be drink specials at each participating bar for those who are clad in zombie attire.

Just steps away from the Mark Bar, Tommy’s Tavern (AKA: “the murder bar”) will be having an evening of “blood, guts and shakin’ butts” starting at 10:00 p.m. Now I dare any of you not to get behind that!

… Thursday night we are throwing a little dance party/fund-raiser magic for our pals The Desk Set.  Proceeds go towards their book drive for A.P. Tureaud Elementary, a public school in New Orleans serving students in pre-K through 6th grade.  Tureaud needs to replace the books from their library that Katrina destroyed, so come help out, because unlike after most nights out, you will wake up feeling great about the previous evening’s shenanigans.

Come down, drink, dance, win prizes, and have fun for a good cause, as The Diamond has promised to donate a buck from every drink to A.P. Tureaud for the first two hours.  No cover!

There will be a raffle conducted by Cowboy Mark* and music from DJ’s Jason Diamond and Dirty Jean. Check it out!
