East Williamsburg Post-Halloween Wrap Up: Back in the U.S.S.R.?
Okay, before I proceed with this post I want to get two things out of the way:
- I am completely aware that Halloween is not just yesterday’s— but last week’s— news.
- Some would argue that the location of the following tableau is Bushwick, not East Williamsburg.
Sometimes in the course of human events one need not trifle with taxonomy or the temporal. What I beheld today on Grattan Street is just such an occasion.
Now I will endeavor to explain to you what you just saw.
1. In the background is a Soviet Russian flag. Actually it is a towel of the Soviet Russian flag.
2. In the foreground is a bespectacled pumpkin with a ninja star lodged in one of its eyes.
3. I’m not too sure if the item to the right is a vase or a rather bourgeois looking bong. In light of the ninja star I am leaning towards the latter.
Soviet stoners in East Williamsburg, you ask? I wouldn’t rule it out. Especially in light of what I found shortly thereafter on McKibben Street.
The revolution is dead, LONG LIVE THE REVOLUTION!
