New York Shitty Day Starter: In God We Trust
It’s not every day you see a super-sized one dollar bill, hence I had to capture this one along with its creator Christian Hooker. If the piece at the above right looks familiar to any of you, gentle readers, you have a keen memory: I featured it on this site not terribly long ago. As Mr. Hooker explained to me, his prior work space (which was located on Nassau Avenue) became so expensive relocating to Williamsburg (in this case Kent Avenue) ended up being a more economically viable option.
This is something to think about when the subject of preserving north Brooklyn’s artistic flavor is bandied about (more often than not by Loft Law advocates). And it is. Often.
New York Shitty Day Starter: Big Money
I stumbled upon this most unusual piece of currency (and its creator, Christian Hooker) earlier this week on Norman Avenue. You can see more of his Dollar series (one of which graces the art collection of Russell Simmons!) by clicking here. Go ahead, he’s a really nice guy!

P.S.: On a related note, anyone care to guess where in Greenpoint the following can be found?
