From The New York Shitty Inbox: And Then There Were Four
Filed under: 11222, Greenpoint, Greenpoint Brooklyn, Greenpoint Magic, Stuff That Makes Miss Heather Happy
Some of you might recall that not too long ago I was contacted by a very nice lady named Christina about a guinea pig which was left at a local pet supply: Animal Planet. She wanted me to get the word out about this little one in the hope he/she would find a new home. I am pleased to report that this has, in fact, happened.
Upon moving to Philadelphia (no kidding) this fur critter’s new person noted that what was (presumed to be) an overweight male was in fact not. Her suspicions were confirmed a couple nights ago when “he” gave birth to a trio of furry goodness. Without further ado, here they are!
A big New York Shitty shout-out goes to This Little Piggie Rescue and a lovely lady named Sarah (among many others) for giving this story a happy ending. Thanks!
From The New York Shitty Inbox: An Abandoned Guinea Pig In Greenpoint?
Yes, gentle readers this would appear to the the case. Christina, the lovely proprietress of Usha Veda Yoga writes (to yours truly and Jen G. at Greenpointers):
Hey lovely blogging ladies.
I hope all is well. Jen, congrats on your fund raising for Sandy. Heather, good luck with the move. I am writing because every time I go into Animal Planet this week I want to take home this cute little ginea pig that someone left behind in a shoe box after asking Mo to go in the back for birdseed and then disappearing.
He is loved by the owner who is committed to finding him a good home but can’t remain there as they have cats both at the store and in their own home. If you could share this maybe someone will happily adopt him. He is free but the crate belongs to the store. I held him for quite awhile and can assure you that he doesn’t bite or poop on you! Thanks!
So there have you. Anyone interested in providing this critter a home should swing by Animal Planet:

Thanks!
UPDATE, November 11, 2012: I just got word this fella (yes, it is a boy) gal has a new home. Hooray!
UPDATE, November 21, 2012: It turns out “he” was in fact a she. This was discerned after “he” gave birth to a litter of more furry cuteness!

New York Shitty Day Starter: Kobe & C.C.
Eva (who took the above photograph) writes:
CC (on the right) has always loved to go out and discover the neighborhood – block after block. When he did not return for the night, I expected the worst. The pet store owner worried, looked, posted fliers and suspected he was stolen. CC materialized after couple of months – reportedly living in a construction site nearby. He refused to return to the store, however. A few more weeks passed and CC decided to come back after all. He is not interested in going out anymore.
Urban Fur: Back To Work
I, among many other North ‘Pointers, was absolutely elated to hear the good news that C.C. has been safely returned to his place of work/play. Naturally this morning I had to swing by Animal Planet and welcome him back. What awaited me was a changed man.
Not only is C.C. downright affectionate nowadays, but his person told me he answers to his name now is downright aggressive about getting lovins’.
If the scratches I spied on his nose are any indication, I’d say Mr. Sabathia had a run-in with an urban lion even more formidable than himself. Perhaps working retail isn’t such a bad “gig” after all? His co-worker, Kobe (who’s traditionally been the more level-headed of the pair), had this to say about C.C.’s homecoming: a hiss and a healthy swat to the face. That’ll learn him.
From The New York Shitty Inbox: C.C. Has Been Found!
As some of you might recall one of north Greenpoint’s more substantial shop cats, C.C. (as seen at left), went missing from Animal Planet last November. Well, today I have very good news! He has been found!
Apparently a woman on Eagle Street spied hm and contacted his “people” at Animal Planet. They came over with a carrier which, naturally, he refused to enter. However, when food was offered he felt quite differently; he pounced upon it and they upon him.
As for what C.C. experienced during his two month leave of absence is anyone’s guess: he isn’t talking. I suspect (or would that be hope?) the recent arrival of some downright brutal weather will motivate him to stay indoors moving forward.
From The New York Shitty Inbox: C.C. is MIA!
Moe of Animal Planet writes:
I wanted to ask if you can help me out. Our cat C.C. is missing and we cant find him anywhere and I feel someone must have taken him. If you can help us out in anyway we would be grateful.
Urban Fur: Animal Planet
C.C. and Kobe are back on the job after getting a “time out” for ripping open a bag of cat food. As you can see C.C. (at left) is not terribly troubled by remorse for his actions.

New York Shitty Day Ender: Quality Control
Kobe takes great pride in personally inspecting each and every cat tree at his place of work (and it should be noted, play): Animal Planet!

C.C., of Animal Planet, watches passerby with a mixture of disdain and curiousity.
