P.S.: On a (somewhat) related note here is an item which was forwarded to me via a tipster regarding a rather prolific pair of bank robbers. Note item #5, as it came to pass in Greenpoint.

Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a M/B or M/H wanted in connection with 15 bank robberies that occurred in the confines of the Brooklyn North, Brooklyn South, and Queens South Boroughs.

The suspect is a M/B or M/H, 5’9″-6’01”, 20-30’s, and wears a hat or baseball cap, a scarf or bandanna, sunglasses, various types of gloves, a hooded outer garment, various pants or jeans, and work boots.

Incident #1 – On December 22, 2010, at approximately 1557 hours, at Chase Bank located at 506 Kings Highway, in the confines of the 061 Precinct. The suspect entered the bank, passed a demand note, and fled the bank on foot.

Incident #2 – On December 30, 2010, at approximately 1540 hours, at Chase Bank located at 1521 Kings Highway, in the confines of the 061 Precinct. The suspect entered the bank, passed a demand note, and fled the bank on foot.

Incident #3 – On January 7, 2011, at approximately 1643 hours, at Chase Bank located at 1240 Liberty Avenue, in the confines of the 075 Precinct. The suspect entered the bank, passed a demand note, and fled the bank on foot.

Incident #4 – On January 11, 2011, at approximately 1444 hours, at Chase Bank located at 2100 Linden Boulevard, in the confines of the 075 Precinct. The suspect entered the bank, passed a demand note, and fled the bank on foot.

Incident #5 – On January 20, 2011, at approximately 1625 hours, at Apple Bank located at 776 Manhattan Avenue, in the confines of the 094 Precinct. The suspect entered the bank, passed a demand note, and fled the bank on foot.

Incident #6 – On January 22, 2011, at approximately 1326 hours, at Chase Bank located at 2401 Ralph Avenue, in the confines of 063 Precinct. The suspect entered the bank, passed a demand note, and fled the bank on foot.

Incident #7 – On January 25, 2011, at approximately 1500 hrs, at Chase Bank located at 533 5th Avenue, in the confines of the 078 Precinct. The suspect entered the bank, passed a demand note, and fled the bank without receiving any U.S. currency.

Incident #8 – On January 29, 2011, at approximately 1450 hours, at Chase Bank located at 127 7th Avenue, in the confines of the 078 Precinct. The suspect entered the bank, passed a demand note, and fled the bank on foot.

Incident #9 – On February 7, 2011, at approximately 1045 hours, at Chase Bank located at 6501 18th Avenue, in the confines of the 062 Precinct. The suspect entered the bank, passed a demand note, and fled the bank without receiving any U.S. currency.

Incident #10 – On February 7, 2011, at approximately 1215 hours, at Citibank located at 133-07 Rockaway Boulevard, in the confines of the 106 Precinct. The suspect entered the bank, passed a demand note, and fled the bank without receiving any U.S. currency.

Incident #11 – On June 14, 2011, at approximately 1500 hours, at Chase Bank located at 1640 86th Street, in the confines of the 062 Precinct. The suspect entered the bank, passed a demand note, and fled the bank on foot.

Incident #12 – On June 17, 2011, at approximately 1625 hours, at Capital One Bank located at 2102 Ralph Avenue, in the confines of the 063 Precinct. The suspect entered the bank, passed a demand note, and fled the bank on foot.

Incident #13 – On June 22, 2011, at approximately 1725 hours, at Capital One Bank located at 2123 Avenue U, in the confines of the 061 Precinct. The suspect entered the bank, passed a demand note, and fled the bank on foot.

Incident #14 – On June 23, 2011, at approximately 1610 hours, at Chase Bank located at 159 5th Avenue, in the confines of the 078 Precinct. The suspect entered the bank, passed a demand note, and fled the bank on foot.

Incident #15 – On July 1, 2011, at approximately 1445 hours, at Chase Bank located at 210 Flushing Avenue, in the confines of the 088 Precinct. The suspect entered the bank, passed a demand note, and fled the bank on foot.

This afternoon I was pleased as punch to get a missive from the man behind the missive at left! Brandon writes:

I have been reading you blog for some time now and today saw that you had a picture of my “Bike Shop Coming Soon, 76 Franklin St.” sign.  Thanks for posting that.  I will be opening the week of the 16th.  We are just waiting for a double door to be installed in the front of the building.  We will be specializing in commuting, adventure cycling, touring and will have some other interesting bits and bikes.  We will have a full line of parts and bicycles and a complete service area.  Every type of cyclist will be welcome.  Most importantly, my manager and I want to create a shop where the customer feels comfortable to come in and ask any question.
