(As left, by yours truly, next to a colossal explosion of human excrement on Melrose Street)
As you can see Vito “Gropez” Lopez has employed imagery from the game Monopoly. I for one find this more than a little appropriate.
After all, Mr. Gropez has for all intents and purposes received a get out of jail free card. Do NOT even get me started on what Vito probably thinks constitutes the “Community Chest”…

Here’s the latest bit of campaign literature hilarity courtesy of Vito “Gropez” Lopez. Now he is apparently the “people” candidate. Well, I suppose if one does not consider women to be people this could work. I suppose this is why Mr. Gropez thinks $330,000 worth of fines for sexual harassment is excessive and intends to fight it in court…

I arrived home from today’s peregrinations to find another piece of campaign “literature” from Vito “Gropez” Lopez in my inbox. Here’s what my tipster had to say about it:
The latest from Vito. Too bad there’s no reference anywhere to any of these events actually happening.
New York Shitty analysis:
- Well, methinks it has already been established that Mr. Lopez has a rather unconventional view of what constitutes “the truth”.
- “Renaissance”: one person’s (Vito’s) Renaissance is another person’s “displacement”.
- I for one would like it if “Gropez” would expound upon why he is running for City Council in the first place…

Ever since I have posted the good news about Mr. Gropez’s lack of Photoshop skills (part of which can be seen above), I have been wondering:
Who was the fellow who lost his head?
I suspect my comrade over at the New York Daily News, Celeste Katz, has as well. She writes:
A moustached man with glasses stands between the two in the middle of the original photo…
Well thanks to an anonymous tipster I have ascertained the identity of this fellow… (drum roll please)
Will the Honorable Richard Velasquez, stand up please! Now of course the question (in my mind, anyway) is why Gropez and friends saw fit to remove him. Anyone?
P.S.: You can (and should) see the original New York Daily News article from which I grabbed the above insert by clicking here. Otherwise, you can read the follow-up article wherein Gropez says the Photoshopping is no big deal and he and Hillary are buds by clicking here.
