I am so happy that this rally is taking place. After the presentation that Park Tower Group and others gave to Community Board 1, this rally seems more important than ever. Clearly, city officials and developers aren’t done adding to this already over burdened, over developing waterfront. The WIlliamsburg/Greenpiont community continues to be slammed. The bottom of the flyer says it all, “broken promises”, “ongoing displacement”, “lack of affordable housing”. The Williamsburg/Greenpoint community needs to act and speak up together again. We need to let city officials know that their affordable housing plan isn’t affordable at all and that we won’t tolerate any more lies. You know the saying, “The squeaky wheel gets the grease”. If this community is going to achieve anything, it has to come out in numbers just like it did against the TGE power plant. When Williamsburg & Greenpoint came out together in numbers, we won…

Although I have featured this before, what really struck me today was the pigeon’s presence. It was almost as if he (she?) was standing there just to get the “point” across. Possibly before “bombing” some unsuspecting pedestrian below…
