Since hearing about the discovery of human remains on Kent Street yesterday yours truly has been wondering (as I suspect we all have) exactly how they got there. To this end I poked around the Brooklyn Daily Eagle archives to see they could shed any light on this and in so doing made some interesting finds. After a casual search I discovered that what transpired this weekend was more common than one would think. Without further ado here are a couple of items. Enjoy!

What yours truly finds fascinating is both incidences came to pass fairly close 119 Kent Street and seem to be at the behest of medical students. Exactly why someone would place the decapitated head of a woman under the floorboards of a butcher shop is anyone’s guess (sick practical joke? an experiment?). I suppose that one will be lost to history. In the meantime, I’ll be very curious to see what our Finest make of this one.
