From The Greenpoint Grapevine
I have heard a very disturbing piece of news from a reliable source; the Greenpoint Coffee House’s landlord has made it known that he will not be renewing their lease. Why is this so, you ask? Because he plans to operate his own coffee house there.
Now before everyone panics let it be known they have approximately two more years on their lease so they will not be packing it in anytime soon. Nonetheless I have been told the owner of the Greenpoint Coffeehouse is shopping around for space. Let’s hope she finds it. I suspect I echo the sentiments of many when I say the Greenpoint Coffeehouse is a local institution.

Yes the Greenpoint Coffee house is a great place, I was there several times.
I love the interior, it looks like an old fashion eatery, from days gone bye.
I sure hope it stays there.
Strange. The quality of the place has kinda taken a dive. I moved into Greenpoint just back in September and recall that the place was really great then. Good food selection, great(!!!!) brunch and the only draw back was the price (4$ for toast). All of that pushed me over to 3 decker for my breakfasts.
I noticed that the place changed the menu at some point to have less choice and no substitutions. There was no more build your own omelette and there was a lack of happiness among the staff there. Something happened. The couches/lazboy/chairs were also removed and replaced with benches. It was as if there was an efficiency expert that was hired to run the place.
These are only my observations and it looked like the place was having issues – the news isn’t surprising.
I liked their first cook best. Of course, that was YEARS ago…
