Closing on a note of delicious irony I leave you, dear readers, with something I beheld at McCarren Park at 7:30 p.m. last night!
UPDATE, 6:15 p.m.: it would appear Jeff sent the wrong photo! He writes:
Oops, sent the wrong pic…that was 38th and Broadway….here’s the real fail at 38 and 7th!

The power of complaining … The lesson is be direct with what the problem is, complain to as many people as possible including posting on the yahoo group for community board 1, our parks administrator as well as her boss and the board.
Indeed. The Community Board 1 Yahoo groups is useful for a great many things in addition to advertising “Fuckerware Parties”! It should also be noted that Steve Levin’s office was VERY helpful in regards to snow clean-up too.
I don’t know, the 3 years I lived in Manhattan in the late 90s that looks pretty par for the course of what clean up looked like. Plows only came down my side street a couple times tops.
