Spotted On Franklin Street: Illegal Advertising On Public Property

It would appear that OSA, Open Space Alliance, is employing illegal “street art” advertisements on street signs for their concerts. In a landmarked district, no less. Given the litigious nature of this organization and the fact it is a “private/public partnership” I find this very interesting. The fact this was erected by Leviticus is pure gravy. When I want to feel dirty I read those passages.*

It’s bad enough that OSA is clearly promoting teenage alcohol use with their references and logos, but this shit is going over the top. I quit the OSA steering group primarily because I don’t want my name mingled with an organization like this. My impression is that OSA is going to raise funds by any and all means necessary. So far, that’s included beer in children’s playgrounds accompanied by groups singing explicit lyrics right next to children’s playgrounds.
As a private citizen, if I were to attempt to draw “teenage” attention to concerts promoting beer, I’d probably have a lawsuit against me and an ACS report as well. But OSA seems to be above basic laws and principals, since the Parks Administrater/OSA Director/Park Czar approves all of the permits.
