Spotted On Oak Street: Magic Supplies
If there is one thing that warms yours truly’s heart it is a sight such as this (which hails from Oak Street): our neighborhood’s youth getting hands-on experience with our country’s free enterprise system. I don’t know if there is much of a market for “magic supplies” (I can only hope there is), but our intrepid young entrepreneur, Natalia has a diverse array of business endeavors. I learned this when I rounded the corner to Lorimer Street.
In closing, I feel compelled to point out that the youngster(s) behind all the above solicitations also has a side business in “hampster moving”. Methinks we may very well have just seen the handiwork of the next Bill Gates or Steve Jobs folks. Who needs an iPad when you can have magic— and a kitten?

miss heather- i feel like i have to say something about this. it’s just so weird! i live at 95 india st and know the apt from which the supposed child entrepreneur is operating. the thing is…. i don’t think this is for real. i know that’s a strange accusation to make, but it doesn’t make any sense. i think you may have unearthed a mystery. or some weird child level retribution or bullying.
Hmm… (rubs chin).
part of me feels like i want to knock on their door and ask, “did you really lose a cat? and at the same time are selling magic supplies, kittens and pugs?”
Don’t forget “hampster moving” services.
‘Magic Supplies for sale’ on Oak Street: cute
‘Magic Supplies for sale’ north of, say, India Street: kinda scary
Puh-LEAZE. I live in the area in question: it is not bad at all. However, if you want scary why not “Magic Supplies For Sale” at 1109 Manhattan Avenue? Go ahead, Google it.
haha, maybe I Should’ve said north of Dupont or Clay St? My thoughts were somewhere in the vicinity of your previous posts re: used syringes outside the Veridian…
The fact is far north Greenpoint isn’t hoppin like it used to be. If you ask me, the arguably creepiest part of the Garden Spot is Varick, Bridgewater, Anthony, etc. over by the BQE (and Kosciuszko Bridge). I imagine this area at, say, 2:00 – 4:00 am is, uh, colorful.
