These photographs (which document the state of advanced decay and neglect to be found West Street between Green and Kent) were taken today, October 13, at around 2:30 p.m. I think they speak for themselves. This is inexcusable.

And how much worse it would look without the weeds.
The first site was a parking lot. I didn’t think you could possibly get uglier than that. Obviously you can— and I wish that parking lot was back! As for site #2: this one has been problematic FOR YEARS. On Halloween 2009 I caught a guy taking a shit there: http://www.newyorkshitty.com/?p=2449.
Merely “fixing” these fences is not going to solve the problem. They should tear the damned things down, clear out all the garbage, fill any excavation with dirt, etc. I’d rather look at— and come to think of it, would feel safer walking by— a vacant lot than this crap.
I took photos of these today too, I couldn’t believe it! The kicker is the ugly purple construction vehicles in both lots.
