In the early 70s radio station WMCA used to run a “curb your dog” public service announcement. A sweet little old lady sang this jaunty jingle:
When you take your doggy out to diddle doodle
Whether he’s a hound, a mongrel, or a poodle
Make it plain to him, explain to him
In diddle doodle talk,
He must not diddle doodle in the middle of the walk.
Diddle one and doodle two
On the sidewalk must not do.
No one likes to step into
Diddle one and doodle two.
Part of me thought I had hallucinated this, but there were not enough drugs in all of East Flatbush to bring about such a bizarre flashback. Thank God for Google.
