Spotted On Diamond Street: Hate

The above image comes from a residnent of Diamond Street. He/she writes on September 15, 2012:
From outside my apartment building.
I have brought this rather ugly item to the attention to the head of the 94th Precinct, D.I. Hurson, among others. While outside of his jurisdiction, hopefully he can help get this loathsome piece of vandalism— to Federal property no less— removed. I have demonstrated— time and time again— I have neither time nor tolerance for this crap. Seriously.
P.S.: This post is dedicated the incredibly motivated Chief of Staff of our City Councilman’s office: Ashley Thompson. This dedicated civil servant saw fit to send me a nastygram calling me (among other things) “hateful” and a “cyberbully” Friday night at 7:47 p.m. Getting a dressing-down about ethics— much less “bullying”— from someone who is albeit two degrees removed from “Gropez” and the machine his protege (her boss) is eagerly facilitating— well, that speaks for itself.
New York Shitty Adoptable Cutie Du Jour: Looking For Trouble?

If so, Kevin may very well be your guy!
Do not let this innocent “adopt me face” fool you: this feisty feline is capable of all manner and variety of winsome mischief— and when he isn’t Kevin’s simply resting up for more shenanigans— as I learned at the North Brooklyn Cats adoption event today at Muddy Paws. Enjoy!
Those of you seeking a more mellow companionshould meet “Macaroni”:
This sweet fellow loves to be loved. Today he quietly laid in the lap of one lady visitor for 20 minutes. As you can see from the above image he does not like living in a cage. He wants a lap to call his own— maybe yours? You can learn more about Kevin, Macaroni and their equally adorable (and adoptable) friends by checking out North Brooklyn Cat’s Petfinder page. Check it out!

Today upon awakening to another lovely autumn day I decided a walk was in order. It was on Broadway that I encountered Felipe. If he looks familiar to you, gentle readers, this is because I have featured him on this site on a couple of occasions. Today, however, I had the pleasure of personally meeting this incredibly friendly fellow. I can assure you his smile is contagious. What’s more, he even let me model his sombrero!
Lost In Williamsburg: Louie
Filed under: 11206, 11211, East Williamsburg, East Williamsburg Brooklyn, Stuff The Makes Heather Sad, Williamsburg, Williamsburg Brooklyn
Each and every lost stolen pet flyer is heartbreaking. The above one, however, is even more so than most. Firstly, I stumbled upon this missive well outside the confines of the 94th Precinct (Graham Avenue at Boerum Street ). Clearly Louie’s family has cast as broad a net as possible in the hope of his safe return. As for the “copy”— that pretty much speaks for itself.
No indication has been as from where Louis went missing. However another flyer located nearby (in a state of deterioration) noted he has just been groomed. Perhaps this is a clue? In any case he is sorely missed. If anyone reading this has seen Louis or knows of his whereabouts, please contact his “people” at the above-listed phone number. Otherwise, and as this flyer indicates, anyone in possession of this adorable fella can (READ: should) return him to the 94th Precinct. No questions will be asked.
Thanks!

Charles Le Brigand who shot the above photograph writes:
Errol was on his way to a car show in Coney Island when I stopped him on Nostrand Ave. He smoothly turned down the volume of the stereo and said – “sure, where should we do this?
“Follow me” I said.
While on my bike, I mentally scanned through the neighborhood to find the right location for the shoot. I was looking for a clear, uniform background so the cherry-red color of Errol’s 1968 Catalina could really pop out. And this plain metal fence was just perfect.Errol told me that his Pontiac is the only model registered in the State of NY and that he had won several trophies in local classic car shows over the years. He invited me to the next one in the Bronx and I told him that I would be crazy to refuse a ride through the boroughs in this exquisite classic.
