Brother owns Bodegas, multiple apartments, and many top flight pigeons. He also has the first in-apartment coop I have seen; a specially constructed sealed room filled with birds who come and go through vents in the windows.
Brother, funny, charismatic and smart, went out of his way to show me around, a gracious host. I struggled to capture the scene, a stark but yet well lived in apartment with a pool table, scattered liquor bottles and a massive sealed room filled with prized pigeons.

As I noted yesterday I took a sojourn around Dutch Kills. My buddy at Newtown Pentacle had this to say:
Ain’t it grand?
Well, its own in a way, it is. Usually one thinks of this industrial part of our fair city as being totally bereft of nature. This is not true. There is flora and fauna to be found there— provided one knows where to look. I happened upon the above-depicted gaggle of geese ducks while crossing the Hunters Point Avenue Bridge. Further along the 51st Avenue I happened upon a couple of gardens in the least expected of places. Gardens whose groundskeepers seem to be of the feline variety. Enjoy!

New York Shitty Slideshow du Jour: 5 Pointz Selections
Today, upon noticing it was a beautiful (if slightly brisk) day, I decided to get out of the apartment and see what was shaking at 5 Pointz. I’m glad I did: there was plenty of new stuff to be savored. Without further ado here are some highlights from my visit. Enjoy!
