New York Shitty Day Ender: And So The Race To The Bottom Continues…
Filed under: 11222, Greenpoint, Greenpoint Brooklyn, Greenpoint Magic, New York City
I don’t know about you but I’ll be happy when this football season is over. Why, you ask? The latest covers of the New York Post have been— to put it mildly— more cringe-worthy than usual.

P.S.: If Rex Ryan is reading this I recently lost my job and really need a new pair of sneakers. The above (pink!) New Balances are a womens’ size 6 1/2; have never been washed and have seen a great deal of our fair city. Care to make a deal?
New York Shitty ATM Du Jour: Goldfingered
While I tend to lavish my attention on public pay phones this specimen (which hails from the intersection of Hope and Roebling Street) was too good not to share!

P.S.: Special thanks go out to Laura Perez for spying theĀ above annotation. Great catch!
Urban Fur: May I Help You?
This handsome (and many-toed) fellow is named Pablo. He hails calls Hunt’s Point, Bronx his place of work and play and comes courtesy of Chris Arnade. Great capture!

Found On Lorimer Street
I do not know what to call this repurposed piece of metal— but here it is anyway. If you want to make this item your own head to 700 Lorimer Street.

P.S.: What is this? Thoughts, anyone?

Greenpoint Photo Du Jour: Salvation Army
Caryn Rose (who took the above photograph) writes:
the combination of the hardware store and the sally army store has taunted me since i moved here all those years ago. i never have my camera when the light is right and when i have my camera the light is wrong. i still didn’t have my camera and this isn’t what i wanted ultimately but at least it’s here so when those buildings are sold i can still remember this part of greenpoint.
