Urban Fur: ?
This exceptionally friendly fellow hails from Franklin Street. He (she?) seems too friendly and well fed to be a stray. Anyone out there know his (or her) story?

Spotted On Graham Avenue: The Grout Man
Filed under: 11211, East Williamsburg, East Williamsburg Brooklyn, Williamsburg, Williamsburg Brooklyn
I’m not 100% certain why I find this so intriguing (methinks it might be the fact the hand is employing a bottle opener) but here it is. Got dirty grout? Here’s your man. What’s more, you get 20% off through July 18!

New York Shitty Day Ender: ATM Abuse
Filed under: 11222, Advanced Life Forms, Criminal Activity, Greenpoint, Greenpoint Brooklyn, Greenpoint Magic
My buddy Larry has a theory about what happens in New York City when the temperature reaches 90 degrees or more for an extended period of time. It goes more or less as follows:
- On the third day people will go absolutely nuts. Expect to see fighting.
- The fourth day will be pretty much be like the third. Stay indoors.
- By the fifth day people get tired and things settle down.
If what I have observed this week is any indication, his theory is spot on. CASE IN POINT: what I spied on Huron Street this afternoon.
Greenpoint’s first documented case of ATM abuse.
It takes a lot of strength (and anger) to do something like this.
Here’s a close up.
Methinks I’ll be staying indoors just a wee bit longer.

A Greenpoint Bomb Scare Update
Today I was contacted by someone we’ll call Q about yesterday’s bomb scare. He/she writes:
I have pictures of the “package” and some on the spot comments. i was there for two hours. LMK
To wit I replied:
I hope you were not one of the poor unfortunates that couldn’t go into their apartments because of that? Yeesh. Sure, send me over what you got. Thanks!
Sure enough, Q delivered the goods. He/she writes:
Attached are pictures of the device and the Bomb Squad investigating it. No, I was not misplaced, but did have a suggestion to what it might be. The bomb squad pretty much snubbed me.
Turned out I was right anyway. Being a biker (Motorcycle) I used to use a method (pictured) to adjust my carburetor.
So there have you.
