From The New York Shitty Inbox: Monsterman’s Loose!
This item (which hails from Hall Street and DeKalb Avenue) comes from a man we’ll call Clinton. He writes:
I thought this was funny and would send it your way. Don’t know if this qualifies for your blog, It was found outside of the Pratt Campus in Fort Greene/Clinton Hill. The name monster man is classic as well as the picture!
If any of my friends/readers in Fort Greene/Clinton Hill have seen Monsterman or know of his whereabouts please contact his keepers at the above-listed telephone number. Thanks!

LAST GASP: The Brooklyn Shillfest, Part II
Remember the quicklink I posted earlier? Well, Atlantic Yards Report has gotten to the bottom of this web of intrigue courtesy of an anonymous tipster. How much does Absolut think infotising on Brooklyn blogs is worth? Apparently a Flipcam among other things. Read it and weep.

UPDATE, June 9, 2010: Norman Oder, the author of Atlantic Yards Report has posited some very interesting questions to Ms. Crawford, Cityroom’s choice of “expert blogger” you can read them by clicking here. In addition Brownstoner has written an excellent Op Ed about the Fifth Annual Brooklyn Absolut Blogfest Shillfest. You can read it by clicking here.
P.S.: By the way, the FTC (fairly) recently ruled that bloggers are to disclose the freebies they receive. You can get the full 411 courtesy of Wired by clicking here.

Quicklink: Shillfest? Absolutly!
This item comes courtesy of Atlantic Yards Report. Speaking as someone who has:
1. received the press release about Absolut’s generous donation of $50,000 to Habitat For Humanity (which is chump change, I can assure you) and 2. lives in a community which rates among the city’s highest for alcoholism I found their critique of this company’s cynical exploitation of the sad state of affordable housing in north Brooklyn— and the Brooklyn blogosphere in general— rather compelling. Spotted In East Williamsburg: (Needs to be seen to be believed)
Filed under: 11206, East Williamsburg, East Williamsburg Brooklyn, Williamsburg, Williamsburg Brooklyn
I apologize for the poor quality of these images. Quite frankly I was caught off guard. I never thought I would see the day when I would walk down Montrose Avenue to find:
- a Hare Krishna (?)
- sporting ear plugs
- talking on a cell phone
Vive la différence!
