WANTED IN WILLIAMSBURG: Bill Murray
This interesting (and somewhat misguided solicitation) can be found at Urban Rustic. My advice: canvass the local watering holes and L train, guys.

P.S.: Oh yeah, and if you do find him get his autograph for me. Miss Heather loves her some Caddyshack!

Dog Habitat Rescue is so proud to join with 31 other animal charities nationwide to help launch New York Times bestselling author W. Bruce Cameron’s book A Dog’s Purpose: A Novel for Humans. Because of the generosity of legendary independent booksellers all over the USA like our very own Word, each of these 31 charities will be getting a full 10% of the cover price for this book which is expected to be a big best seller, and is getting rave reviews from critics and animal advocates everywhere. Just in this past week, these are the reviews that have come in.
“I loved this book and could not put it down.” –Temple Grandin, New York Times bestselling author Animals Make Us Human

Among us people training guide and companion dogs, caring for retired K9 officers (yes, the dogs are called officers!) rescuing abandoned and abused animals, providing essential spaying and neutering services, helping financially troubled families obtain pet food in these tough times, providing pet bereavement counseling, and much more.
We hope that you will consider pre-ordering this book today to benefit Dog Habitat Rescue, which you can so easily do by phone (718-383-0096) or by using the store’s web site or, of course, by visiting the independent bookseller at:

LAST GASP Part II: Coffee, Tea or Me?
Filed under: 11222, Crazy Cat Lady, Greenpoint, Greenpoint Brooklyn, Greenpoint Magic
Tonight as my buddy Rachael and I were eating dinner at Casanova’s we received a most unexpected appetizer.
This kitten came tearing into the restaurant like a bat out of hell. After making it all the way to back of the restaurant she finally calmed down enough for me to get her in a box— and spring into action. I calmly called a good friend of mine, Laura, who recently had the misfortune of putting one of her cats to sleep. Tat 2, as she was known, had cancer. Well, I think you can figure out the rest.
Welcome home McGuinness!
Miss Heather
P.S.: For those of you keeping track, last week I had to place a cat that was brought into the junk shop on a dolly. WTF?
UPDATE, June 10, 2010:
McGuinness’s new “mom” writes:
She didn’t eat all night long. She slept. Today she woke up all bright eyed but wouldn’t eat. She kept sticking her head in my armpit. Definitely looked like she’d never eaten solid food before. Well anyway, I stuck a little in her mouth today, and wow! She decided this food thing is really cool. After only one night of Bacitracin and Aloe paste, the cuts is pretty much closed and the redness almost gone. All in all, I think she’s doing very well. She was very scared the first night. After all, it’s a noisy family and we were moving stuff. She seems to be getting used to it already.
UPDATE, June 11, 2010:
Here’s McGuinness all cleaned up!
She went to vet earlier today and I am pleased to report she got a clean bill of health!
