New York Shitty Street Seating Du Jour: Naugahyde With Benefits

Okay, this specimen is not technically a street couch: I spied it through a peep hole in construction fence on Gerry Street. However, I felt the magnificent melange of material (including a broken figuring of the Virgin Mary) gracing said sofa merited a mention. Closing on a related note, I am pleased to announce there is a Flickr group dedicated to showcasing world-wide street seating. It is called Sofafree!! and it can be seen by clicking here.

Oh yeah, here’s my favorite of the lot. It hails from Vancouver.

Quicklink: Waste “Management”

Queens Crap recently received a real gem in his “crap box”: a Department of Sanitation memo outlining how waste is to be transported hereabouts. If you have ever wondered about this kind of thing (and I know you’re out there) here is the answer in a nutshell: it entails shuttling material fromĀ Long Island City through Greenpoint to Blissville.

Don’t take my word for it: point and click your way over to Queens Crap and see it for yourself! Reading is believing.

TOMORROW: Old Tymers Day

This item was brought to my attention by my buddy across the creek, Queens Crap. Tomorrow starting at 9:00 a.m. the folks at the recently re-launched Phun Factory will be hosting Old Tymers Day: a collaborative project by over 50 graffiti artists from the 1960’s – 1980’s which will give North 15 Street and its environs a much-needed makeover! You can learn more about this event and Phun Factory by heading over to the latter’s temporary web site. Check it out!

Southside Photos Du Jour: Presenting The Eggman

June 18, 2010 ·
Filed under: 11221, Williamsburg, Williamsburg Brooklyn

When I happened upon this very special super hero and his anthropomorphic ovum sidekick on Broadway I knew I had to pass along the glory here on New York Shitty. Not only has this dynamic duo replaced Hongo Killer as yours trulys favorite corporate spokes… um… things but it also gives me an excuse to give props to the original Eggman!

Oooh, Eggman!
