From The New York Shitty Inbox: The Night Owl Art & Craft Fair
This item was brought to my attention by a very nice lady named Sarah. She provided no details but was kind enough to forward me Time Out New York’s rundown of this event. TONY writes:
Night Owl Craft Fair Craft fairs make us think of creepy dolls and potpourri sachets, but I bet your mama’s craft fair didn’t have Skee-Ball and drink specials. Local designers such as Tomo Tanka, Andrea Zeno and Necks Tuesday will be selling their wares at this crafting bonanza. Browse tables filled with goods like Roxy screen-printed Coney Island ringer tees ($24), hyC Creative hand-pressed greeting cards ($4 each) and Sandy Rubin beaded necklaces ($70). Also on the activities menu: free minimakeovers and drink specials ($6 mimosas, $4 draft beers). The Night Owl, 140 North 4th St between Bedford and Driggs Aves (718-388-6474). Sat 24 1–7pm.

Dear Miss Heather,
I’m really enjoying your thorough coverage of the Greenpoint Hotel!
I’m a former resident of Greenpoint (1996-2004) and I wanted to let you know about a new video short-story I just posted, “No Man’s Land,”
wherein I shot images of industrial Pittsburgh to stand in for industrial Greenpoint. If you get a chance to check it out, I hope you enjoy!
Enjoy it I did— thanks for forwarding this to me! You can learn more about Ms. Lillis and her work by checking out her Myspace page .

I did not get the name of the magnificent beast (which hails from Chrystie Street). Neither he nor his keepers seemed very interested in talking to me. No worries, this 20+ pounder was busy keeping a vigilant watch over his domain!
