Bushwick Photo Du Jour: Booty
This (which hails from the intersection of Noll Street and Flushing Avenue) may very well be the best thing I have ever found on a construction fence.

just wanted to let you know that the crazy lady w/ the ‘king of beers’ xmas tree-tower, now has a cardboard sign on her fire escape and all I can read is “Fuck You”…Â She’s taking it to a whole new level
Welcome home.
Fuck you.

P.S.: In as best as I can tell this sign reads “Don’t fool with me — The Chyssy Woman”.

New York Shitty Day Starter: Paulie Gee’s Update
A number of you have asked me when Paulie Gee’s, the pizzeria slated to take over Paloma’s old space, is going to open. Here’s an update from the man himself, Paulie Gee! He writes:
I can’t give you an opening date yet, but I can give you a glimpse into what you’ll find at our place once the doors open. On Saturday I pulled the first pie out of my hand crafted in from Naples, Stefano Ferrara oven. It was a very gratifying moment for me.
I can’t hardly wait for everyone to see the rest of my fire-breathing beauty, along with the rest of the our quickly transforming space. I very wisely left the design and construction up to Evan and Oliver Haslegrave of www.home-nyc.com and the creative force behind The Manhattan Inn. As with the Inn, the materials they are utilizing are reclaimed and much of it has been sourced from Build It Green in Astoria. Their work in the space so far is nothing short of astounding. I also have attached my recently unveiled logo, which I’m looking forward to the residents of North Brooklyn spotting on Greenpoint Avenue very soon.
That’s one mouth-watering pie, Paulie!
Oh yeah, and the logo is rather nice too.

Quicklink: The Real Williamsburg
Remember Very Small Array, the peeps who brought us a map of Greenpoint’s many neighborhoods, including— but by no means limited to: Sewagetown, Garbagetown and North Vinyl Siding? Well, even if you don’t, they have done it again: a map of what constitutes “Williamsburg” per Craigslist apartment advertisements! Greenpointers will be delighted to know Eagle Street does in fact constitute Williamsburg. Bushwickians and Bed-Stuyers will be edified to know Halsey Street makes the grade as well!
Click here to behold the hilarity yourself. I command you.

From The New York Shitty Inbox: Greenpointer in Search of Digs/Roomie
The real estate market may very well be “regulating” itself. That’s not what I am observing rent-wise. I say this as someone who had a rather obnoxious and very ILLEGAL rider on my (rent-stabilized) lease. I tossed it into the trash, signed the lease and we cut the check. Once the check is deposited it is a legal contract. If “refused” the matter will clog the bowels of Housing Court. FOR A LONG TIME.
What bothers me more is Joann Kims, ‘ situation. It is typical:
I am being kicked out of my apartment Feb 1st (long story, none of which is my doing). I need a roommate or an apartment by Feb 1st. Any leads would be appreciated. My budget is max $1100. I am clean, especially in the kitchen. I detest clutter. I have a dog. I tend to be reclusive when home. I have dinner get gatherings every so often. Apt must be in Greenpoint.
Miss Kim has done a lot for this community. She was and is the brains behind the Greenpoint Food Market. Something I and many others have enjoyed. If you wish to have Joann as a roomie contact me at missheather (at) thatgreenpointblog (dot) com. I’ll gladly forward your email.
