FREELIVECHICKEN

Do you or anyone you know have a chicken coop and need another chicken? It’s a beauty. (! — Ed. Note) We used it for a film yesterday and need to find a home for it.

Preferably someone who will use it for eggs.

CALL ME ASAP

How can I not shake the feeling this fetching fowl is going to find its way onto somebody’s dinner’s plate? In any case if anyone reading this is in need of a “free live chicken” here’s your golden opportunity.

Ah Craigslist, you never cease to entertain…

P.S.: Special thanks go out to Tony On Kent Street for forwarding me this gem.

As you can see that Stop Work Order, thousands of dollars in (unpaid) fines and the little matter of this building being zoned as a hotel are doing a smash-up job of deterring Greenpoint’s good friend, Max Stark, from shilling his illegal apartments. How much more “in your face” can it possibly get than this? This is a disgrace.

New York Shitty Day Starter: $150 A Night On Landmark Block

Yes, a two bedroom apartment on Williamsburg’s only landmarked block (Fillmore Place) will set you back only $150.00 a night. It has two bedrooms but purports to sleep 4-5 people. Henry Miller (who once called this block his home) would be proud!

NOT.

It’s non-smoking.

UPDATE: JULY 24, 2009; It would appear that Shannon is has become coy. Probably because what she is doing is illegal as hell.

P.S.: Anyone care to guess what “Shannon” is paying in the way of taxes for revenue she gets from these sublets? Oh yeah, check out this. And this (my personal favorite).

From Franklin Street to Green and from Green to Manhattan (Avenue) the chaps at 110 Green Street (AKA: The Viridian) are shilling their luxury apartments. With predictable results.

Yes, this is the “luxury” $2,150+ a month for a one bedroom will buy you!

Just look at this craftsmanship!

As you can see, someone is even camping out so as to get in on the “ground floor” on this great “opportunity”!

Purloined Row Boat Update: Found?

rowboatLAURA

Laura wrote (at 9:23 p.m.):

I see that someone lost a row boat. We found one on Saturday at the Nature Walk. I don’t recall if the sides were the color described. From the back on the photo, looks like it could be grey. There’s a number on it 995. I’m going to call the phone number listed to see if it’s the same row boat.

Laura writes at (9:31 p.m.):

The phone number that the folks have written on that sign is the 94th precinct phone number. (718-383-3879— Ed. Note) The officer who answered the phone knew nothing about the boat, but is going to call one of the detectives to see if they know anything. Good luck with that!

Let’s see. All they (94th precinct) have to do is go to 132 Noble Street, ask for a chap named Christopher, take him to the Nature Walk and ask him if this his boat?

So it goes.

Those wacky chaps at H. Hirsch (who, as some might remember, wanted to convert this building into a 35-38 unit condominium complex) are back at it. What’s more, given the recession and all, they’re ready, willing and able to “separate”!

How will this bode for the numerous gents who like to hang out at said premises and use it as a pissoir? Only time will tell.

New & Noteworthy: Orphanage Mopeds

Okay, this isn’t that new (per the gentleman I spoke to this afternoon this establishment has been open since April) but I want to pass it along to all my moped-loving friends and neighbors. Although I eschew operating motorized transportation (or anything with wheels period— I do so in the interest of public safety*), I think mopeds are a great way to fight gridlock. What’s more, instead of selling new merchandise the folks at Orphanage restore older (and many cases, very neat) models for re-use. Swing by their shop (or web site) and see for yourself!

*and out of reverence for the movie Repo Man— which is why I ride the bus. Both of them.
