While the content of this site has deviated from its initial purpose (dog shit) I feel compelled to give a salute to this incredibly reasoned and rational piece of signage from Lewis Avenue in Bedford Stuyvesant. Bravo!

I’m really digging their latest salvo of marketing material. Thoughts/comments, fellow Greenpointers?

I distinctly remember this project being pitched at a Community Board 1 meeting this spring. I do not, however, recall any mention of “Bullwhip Management LLC”. And methinks, gentle readers, you know yours truly well enough to know this would have gotten my undivided attention rather quickly. In closing I cannot help but wonder if “Moctezuma Heirs” is of any relation to “Montezuma’s Revenge“? I certainly hope not!
UPDATE, 3:38 p.m.: I have brought this to the attention of Community Board 1’s Land Use Chair (who also happens to go by the name Heather) Here’s what she had to say.
I just HAD too google “Bullwhip Management LLC” to see if it is for real. it is…
So there have you.
Miss Heather
P.S.: After some thought I have decided I not only want to do the answering machine/voicemail message for Bullwhip Management but I’m willing to do so free of charge!
Urban Fur: Friends

Today as I was knocking along Manhattan Avenue I spied something rather amusing. A small female grey tabby prancing down the street. A pussy with a purpose, if you will. Much to my amazement she sauntered into New A. J. Farms Market. As many of you are aware this establishment has (fairly) recently acquired a new employee: a rather handsome fellow with black and white fur. His name means “butterfly” in Korean. Suspecting something very interesting was about to happen I headed into A. J. Farms without delay. What I found was rather remarkable.
Two buddies getting caught up on the morning’s events…
and “Butterfly’ was none too happy about me documenting it!
Shortly after taking the above photographs I asked the owner what gives. He told me that while he had no idea where this mystery lady was coming from this was, in fact, no an unusual occurrence. It would appear “Butterfly” (who it should be noted is neutered) has a lady friend!

Ever since I first spied this wonderful mural just over a week ago I simply could not get it out of my mind. Finally the obvious came to me:
Why not ask my buddy, Anthony Scalise*, the Manager of McGuinness Brake Service (where this piece is located) and all-around sweetheart if I could swing by and see it up close and personal?
I am pleased to announce that he not only said I was welcome to come by anytime but today I got access to the roof and have some seriously wonder photographs to show for it! Without further ado here they are:
