Greenpoint Street Seating Du Jour: Luxe Living On Java Street
It’s been a while since I’ve hit you up with some street seating. I have to confess this has more to do with forgetfulness on my part than a dearth of good pickings. Luckily I was reminded of the error of my ways today as I walking down Java Street. Which is where I found the following blue chip ensemble.
All the essentials for a leisurely Monday afternoon in the Garden Spot of the Universe are present:
1. A comfy chair
2. A television set, albeit sans cable (it is a recession after all) and this piece of added value
3. A pair of 3-D glasses
All you need is a brewski (in the requisite paper bag, naturally) and perhaps a can of pickled herring and you’re set!

East Williamsburg Street Seating Du Jour: Scholes Street
I have been despondent at the recent dearth of good street seating to be found in north Brooklyn of late. My theory is this due to the recession. People tightening their belts = less people upgrading to new furniture. Less new furniture = less old furniture to be discarded. You get the idea. The previous having been written I came across a bevy of beauties on Scholes Street today. Enjoy!
Subterranean Naugahyde.
A dalmatian dining chair.
A study in complementary colors.
Mod with aluminum siding.
Yes, I know. This ensemble does not qualify as street furniture per se— but who could resist posting it!

Reader Contribution Du Jour: Some Very Special Street Seating
These shots come courtesy of a woman named Jillian who is better known to many as The Fictionalist. She writes:
Hello There,
The two attached photos may be of interest re: your 4/19 post; this comfy, though slightly torn, little number was abandoned on Noble Street btwn Franklin and Manhattan. Thought I’d liven it up.
Very much enjoying your shitty blog…
Thank you, Jillian, for the kind words and living up my inbox!

Street Furniture Du Jour: Distressed On Troutman
This flat-lined chaise lounge hails from a very special street in Bushwick called Troutman. If it could tell us its story I have little doubt it would be a very interesting one!

New York Shitty Day Ender: Shabby Chic On Lorimer Street
This mildly tatty but nonetheless distinguished specimen hails from Lorimer Street. I for one find the placement of the radiator to be both a nice touch and strangely appropriate. Don’t let the sunshine out there fool you, folks:Â it’s damned chilly out!

New York Shitty Day Ender: Street Seat
You can always leave it to 106 Green Street (which is located immediately next door to the Viridian) to keep things real in the Garden Spot. In the case of the above photograph we have a stand pipe which reads:
Asshole Pick up your Dog Shit
an assortment of detritus and a toilet seat that is a lot worse for wear.
Have a nice day!
