East Williamsburg Street Seating Du Jour: Boerum Street
Filed under: 11206, Bushwick, East Williamsburg, East Williamsburg Brooklyn, Street Furniture
Ever had one of those moments when you realize you need a vacation? Today I had one such moment.
Me (to myself):
Oh look, a street couch.
Wait, make that two street couches! I bet the gent taking a “nap” on this specimen is anatomically correct.
Sure enough, I was right.

Greenpoint Street Seating Du Jour: Lorimer Street

What really makes this specimen special is the skeletal Santa holding a gourd in the background (which I have documented previously). The people responsible for this appear to be modifying good ol’ St. Nick in accordance to whatever holiday is in season. Hence the melange of Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas imagery. I can hardly wait to see what they do for Valentine’s Day.

Greenpoint Street Seating Du Jour: Distinguished on Dupont

When I saw this downright elegant specimen on Dupont Street today I simply could not resist sharing it for all to enjoy. A new decade will upon us soon enough and you know what they say:
Out with the old and in with the new!
Nonetheless, I cannot shake the suspicion that Ikea had a hand in this forlorn love seat’s ignominious end.

Vintage Street Seating Du Jour: Todo Libre
Last night I spent five hours doing something I have long needed to do: sort my collection of photographs. When I found the above item I had a moment of nostalgia. This, my first documented piece of street seating, was taken in 2005 and hails from none other than 80 Metropolitan Avenue. Formerly known as the Dutch Mustard Factory.

P.S.: I have more images of old Greenpoint and Williamsburg to share with you today so stay tuned!
