Borough Of Found Toys: Special Puerto Rico Day Edition
It’s been a while since I have hit you with some found toy goodness. This is not due to lack of vigilance on my part; I have found an errant play thing here or there— just not enough to merit a post. That is, until today. I have a bevy of beauties to share with you from points Green and beyond. Enjoy!

Caught in concertina wire with neither Piglet nor Tigger or even Eyeore to save him! It just goes to show that sometimes it’s better for a bear to leave that hunny pot be…

OPEN: La Taverna
Last night as the Mister and I were walking down Manhattan Avenue when we noticed a buzz of activity in front of La Taverna. Upon closer inspection we learned they were having a Grand Opening $4.00 all-you-can-eat introductory buffet. Since we had eaten Italian food for lunch we passed, but I did make it a point to peruse their menu. Not only was it rather extensive (and vegetarian friendly) but the prices were incredibly reasonable (for example: the Rigatoni Arrabiata was a cool $6.75). Methinks I will wait a couple of weeks (so they can iron out the kinks) and give them a whirl. You can check out their menu by clicking here, here, here, and here.

Be advised La Taverna does not serve wine at this time. So if you want a little vino with your eats you need to bring your own.

Greenpoint Gentrification Watch: McCarren Park
This item (which hails from Lorimer Street and Driggs Avenue) goes off the fucking charts. I honestly don’t where to start. Is it
- the professional quality of this flier?
- the kid’s name?
- the fact someone elected to use his (or her) son’s scooter to advertise their political beliefs?
Now that I have given the matter some thought methinks it is probably the latter most. I don’t think little Devlin lost this scooter. He probably had it taken from him after a thorough pommeling from the angry son (or daughter) of this person.

P.S.: I for one who’d like to see a flier for a stolen red scooter with a John McCain sticker on it. Or perhaps a green scooter with a Ralph Nader sticker? I do not know which one would be funnier.
