Ever wondered who this fellow is? I know I have. This is because I see his mug all over north Brooklyn.
Well, Queens Crap has the low-down. Here’s a teaser:
Astoria attorney John Ciafone is running for City Council District 22 (Astoria) to replace outgoing Peter Vallone, Jr. He has run previously for the council as well as for the assembly… What you may not know is that Ciafone currently appears on Public Advocate Bill DeBlasio’s slumlord list (for a property located in Greenpoint no less — Ed. Note). To his credit, he is on the “most improved” list, having reduced his violations from 195 to 2. He tried to donate to DeBlasio, but it was returned. Local council member/Vito Lopez protege Steve Levin and Queens BP candidates Peter Vallone and Melinda Katz apparently have no qualms about keeping his money, however…
Read it for yourselves here.
Otherwise, I will leave you with this footage from a campaign event from Christopher Olechowski’s campaign for 50th Assembly District Democratic Party Male Leader. At 0:28 you can see John J. Ciafone, Esquire, himself…
I encourage you all, gentle readers, to give ALL these videos (there are five total) a watch. They’re, um, interesting.

Thanks to a little “birdie” on the Interwebs I, on a lark, decided to run a quick Google search of the two fellows who wish to (over)develop 77 Commercial Street, with air rights courtesy of 65 Commercial Street in exchange for affordable housing replete with its own “poor door”! The above tome pretty much says it all. Here’s a choice quote/teaser:
But Bistricer’s track record in Brooklyn is notorious. As owner of the 59-building Flatbush Gardens complex, he had more than 8,100 open violations in 2010 and even ranked among the city’s biggest slumlords that year, according to a list comprised by Public Advocate Bill De Blasio.
Bistricer’s shoddy upkeep of Flatbush Gardens and other properties was also a key reason why in 2007 then-Attorney General Andrew Cuomo fought to block a $1.3 billion bid by Clipper Equities to buy the nation’s biggest federally subsidized housing complex, Brooklyn’s Starrett City…
And so we are going to trust this fellow to provide quality housing— be it affordable housing or otherwise— here? LMFAO…

If the developers of 77 Commercial Street have it their way, that would appear to be the case. Read it and weep.

This one never gets old. What’s more, Alex Low of the New Kings Democrats not only noticed— but made sure that all attendees present at this evening’s proceedings minded their “P’s” and “Q’s”…
This is the first installment of this evening’s debate. More to come. Given my site is acting up again (Yeah, I know) I’ll continue adding footage as I can. Otherwise, I’d advise everyone to check my YouTube page. There you will find it all!

I am not too sure how this bottle of (what appears to be) Veuve Clicquot— at least what is left of it— came to be adhered to this wall, but here it is for posterity’s sake. Impressive. Now if you don’t mind, I have the most inexplicable desire to watch Tommy…
