A very nice lady named Lori writes:
Hello Miss Heather!!
I have found a kitty roaming green st between Mcguiness and Manhattan. I rang bells looking for her home but no one knew her family. Right now I have my own fours cats and a friend that found herself homeless and her cat in my apt. So during the day she comes in the apt and at night is in the enclosed backyard. Not the ideal situation but I couldn’t leave her on the street. I am leaving for vacation in a week and need HELP finding her home or a foster… or maybe a new home. She is very sweet with a bit of cattitude but doesn’t even give me hard time getting in the carrier taking her from the yard to the apt at least twice a day… she does growl a bit while in it just to let me know she doesn’t love this plan! NO microchip and pretty sure female.
If any of you know to whom this lady belongs, please contact her good Samaritan at the above-listed phone number. Spread the word!

I know what you’re thinking, gentle readers:
How can this possibly be legal?
It isn’t— but we all know enforcement of rules and regulations (such as those precluding the obstruction of our city’s sidewalks which is what appears to be happening here) are scatter-shot at best. I wonder how a mobility-impaired person is supposed to negotiate this? Anyone?

This is the “haul” for two fellows, very nice guys both), crabbing on Manhattan Avenue Kayak Launch earlier this evening. As you can probably deduce they are not doing this “for sport”. In other words this is probably tonight’s dinner. Yup…
