Greenpoint Restaurant Watch: Dough De Damas
On April 1, 2010 I wrote (in this post):
…The Greenpoint Law of (over)Abundance: we have a falafel/kebab cart on Noble Street, Mediterranean Shawarma and God Bless Deli on Manhattan Avenue both; Kestane Kebab on Nassau Avenue and Bagels On The Run, once again on Manhattan Avenue. The latter-most is renovating and will be serving Gyro goodness.
It is only natural that Donia Cafe will be a Middle Eastern restaurant…
I mention this because today I noticed the place formerly known as the Sweetpoint Cafe at one 230 Calyer Street has become, well…

UPDATE, February 17, 2011: It would appear a pizzeria now occupies this space.

Spotted On Franklin Street: An Open Letter From Ray
Now this is just plain cold. If the complainant in question is reading this: please cut the guy some slack. It sounds like he has enough on his hands already.
In addition I would like to make it known that when I walked by his property today it was spotless. Besides, how can you harbor a grudge against a man who loves cats?

Has Anyone Seen Tim Somers?
I have seen plenty of missing cat fliers over the years but I can honest say this is the first missing person flier I have ever encountered in the Garden Spot. If you have seen Tim or know of his whereabouts please contact his loved ones at: whereistimsomers (at) gmail (dot) com.
Thanks!

From The New York Shitty Inbox: Le Gamin Is Open!
(sort of)
Jay writes:
Mornin’
Just wanted to alert you to something cool happening over on Franklin and Noble. Le Gamin is having a soft opening with a twist. You order at the their food truck and sit inside the new cafe. Saw a few folks taking advantage of the unique arrangement and may join them! If you are nearby check it out. I think they’ll be a great addition to the hood!
