This petition was brought to my attention by its creator: Lincoln Restler, Democratic State Committeeman for Brooklyn’s 50th Assembly District and all-around great guy. If you agree with me that this is one change the MTA has made that is worth keeping, please take a moment to sign this petition. Thanks!

Chris Arnade (who took the above photograph) writes:
Great band performing last night at the Sugar Hill Disco.
It was a very odd night. Sugar Hill Disco has been around for forty years, serving the local community. The owner, Eddie, noticing the change in the neighborhood and being “a great business man” has decided to start catering to the younger, whiter crowds.
It was a fun, at times odd, clash of the old with the new.
I got a big hug and invite from Eddie for Thursday Karaoke with the old time crowd. I can’t wait for that.

It should be noted there was another work directly to the left of this one. It was graced with an admonition and read as follows:
NOTICE TO PUBLIC
PLEASE DO NOT CONCLUDE AN OPINION ON THE MURALS HEREUNDER,
UNTIL YOU HAVE OBSERVED ALL THE MURALS IN “MOM’S LIVING ROOM” DOWNSTAIRS IN THE THEATER.
Sadly this store front is shuttered. I really would have liked to see more!
