McKibben Street Loft Dwellers: Time to Winterize!
It’s been awhile since I have paid my neighbors to the south a little visit. Intrigued to learn how the residents of the McKibben Street lofts are faring, I swung by earlier this week to see what’s shaking. That’s where I found the following example of hipster-directed advertising.
Who knew Bob Marley music was such a problem there? I didn’t. I always thought the bedbug epidemic, dog shit strafed sidewalks and having an illegal strip club in one’s basement (which was the case of 155 McKibben several years ago) would be torment enough. All that and the prospect of having to winterize their windows? Poor dears.

In my opinion there is one advantage to living in industrial buldings, industrial heaters!! The two winters I stayed in the Mckibbin Lofts were very warm for me at least. I know all the apts are not like the one I lived in, but we had an industrial heater that when fired up would blast hot air across the room. Within minutes you cold see the heating coil glow a firey red. But man am I glad to not have to spend another winter there, I got out about a year ago just as the bedbugs we moving in.
That has got to be THE most annoying advertising for services ever written! Why couldn’t they just write “We winterize windows-average price $150 per room”? Call Joe.” or is that not “hip” enough?
