Although both I and my good friend down at Bed Stuy Banana have already featured this delightful establishment I’m going to do it again. Some things just don’t get old. Jason Lombard (of Dog Habitat) who sent me this photo writes:
I know you venture to Bed Stuy once in a while – I was there last week and came across this joint. The Fook Hing Chinese Restaurant on Nostrand Ave. Close to the fook hing G stop. The sign says it’s fook hing delicious. I’ll take their word for it – I didn’t try the fook hing chicken. But that’s a good thing because they got shut down for fook hing rats!
I couldn’t have said it better myself.

I just literally laughed out loud at my desk in my corporate office. 🙂 Fook Hing great!
That’s up there with the classic “Mei Dick Barber Shop” on Mott St. in Chinatown. My personal favorite, though, is “Golden Bird Barber” on Forsyth. Every time I see it, I have visions of little birds sitting in chairs getting their feathers trimmed. (Come to think of it, it is near the “Hua Mei Bird Garden” in Sara Delano Roosevelt Park.)
