Williamsburg Street Furniture Du Jour: Kent Avenue & North 1 Street

I found this curious trio of street furniture within eyeshot of each other at the intersection of North 1st Street and Kent Avenue while walking around Williamsburg today. The more eagle-eyed among you probably noticed that the latter-most item, a piano placed for the public’s enjoyment, graces a property that received a rather nasty missive a few of months ago. To refresh everyone’s memory it was authored by someone who called himself (herself?) “appalled neighbor” and was addressed to “medieval slum neighbors or transients”. Today I am pleased to report I saw no such nastiness. Perhaps music does, in fact, soothe the savage beast after all?
