  6. Met w/these guys today. Locals won’t be happy. Devil in the details. Only vendor parking-thousands of wine & beer drinking people coming & going thru residential streets. Forget about opening your windows for a pleasant summer evening breeze. You’ll be able to listen to the quality of life going down the drain June thru October!! Get involved, limit the time this “BS” Family Bazaar closes or you will regret it….. For example, they said close Sunday around 9 pm & they will leave Sunday trash enclosed in a building next to site to be picked up next weekend. The rats can enjoy it all week. All those vendor cars & trucks leaving Sunday night while folks have to work the next day. NOT GOOD!

thanks for the heads up, i’ll be there with as many neighbors as i can wrangle. the thought of the bazaar actually happening makes me sick… the ENTIRE summer??
    what, was williamsburg full??

looking forward to more drunken hipsters screaming while walking down my street at 2 in the morning. i thought i moved away from williamsburg and into the IBZ to get some peace and quiet, silly me.

  10. There are flyers up on poles on Calyer & Oak organizing against this, Heather I’ll send you a shot I got of one. As a resident of Oak, I’m hesitant about it. While Nuit Blanche was not intrusive, which brought a ton of people to the same area, I am hesitant about the scope and length of this bazaar, especially going until October. If it was a one off deal like Nuit Blanche, I would be less hesitant.

  12. So I went to this meeting today and as might be expected for meetings of this type – it was an unorganized cluster$@#%

This tells me quite a bit. It tells me that Mr. Broudo is not only failing to manage the conversation well, He is failing to manage his own risk

So, here we have a guy with no track record with these kind of events and no experience with these kind of events who’s failing to engender a meaningful conversation about his own goals – not good.

It’s quite possible that Mr. Broudo is a savant when it comes to negotiating leases but as an entrepreneur he is looking pretty stupid.

The fact the the conversation to date has been anything but transparent -with one conversation for potential vendors and another for residents – and the fact that his own website provides no opportunity to leave comment or engage in meaningful dialogue – speaks volumes about his naivete.

Additionally, I find it galling that he uses other people’s blogs, websites and bandwidth to disseminate his press releases yet never joins the conversation or engages the commenters.

Another issue that proclaims his inexperience, naivete and lack of proper funding is the fact that he didn’t hire a professional PR company with experience in this field to manage the conversation.

Basically, all he has is a dollar and a dream.

I suppose that would be great if his learning curve wasn’t going to cost the local residents so much.

Mr. Broudo – You are in so far over your head it just makes you look stupid. The fact that you are a lawyer and have reasonable intelligence and at least some business experience just compounds the fact that you don’t even know what you don’t know.

Some people will never be happy about your plans ….. so if you want to make this happen you better raise your game to a professional level or you’re going to find yourself getting bitch slapped all the way back to Prospect Park

Tell me what you're thinking...
