Fedders Friday: 158 Freeman Street
Today’s Fedders Friday goes out to Bobby Scarano.
Not only is he one of the most ethically-challenged architects this borough has had the misfortune of becoming acquainted with, but he is also a Fedderista!
Here’s looking at you, kid.

I was just about to write you and alert you to this piece of news. Of course you were on top of it!
Some weird stuff with this place. If the lot was divided like Curbed says than there is no CofO listed for the Freeman side unless it hasn’t been filed yet. Same owner though for both lots. I’m extremely curious how this passed inspection being over allowable square footage and not meeting usage requirements (ground floor commercial on the Freeman side?).
Quick follow up to my original post. The lot was originally one big lot touching both streets. As one single lot the buildings on their are currently allowed. If the lots would be split than the usage and allowable square footage would change and drop by 2000 feet (from the NYT article). So the DOB says he built it this way with the intention of splitting the lots later but keeping the additional square footage without the city getting wind and breaking all sorts of regulations. I wonder how they plan to prove that unless they have filings that haven’t been released yet for application to split lots/ add a second CofO.
