New York Shitty Day Ender: Macabre On Manhattan Avenue
I’m not too sure where Chris (the proprietor of T & N Wine and Liquor) is going with this— but I like it! The addition of the black light is an inspired touch.

For a while it just had the “Come-on Join Me” “And Me” skulls, and Chris said he was going to make a bunch of signs that said “and me” “and me” “and me” “and me” “and me” “and me” which I thought would be much more hilarious… but these are great! I asked him about it, and he said he had so many ideas for displays, but “there aren’t enough young people around here.” Then went on about how Greenpoint was the best, everyone here treats you like royalty, but other neighborhoods, “other neighborhoods, they treat you like motherfuckers.”
I love this place.
holy crap! is that crystal head vodka?! because i’ve been meeting to trek out to astor wines for one, but now apparently i don’t have to!
do watch that hole video by the way. dan ackroyd is clearly totally insane. and awesome.
I love that display. How creative for a liquor store! Makes me think of the movie THE BURBS.
“You saw one of my skulls, didn’t you? Oh yes… I know you did. It belonged to a neighbor of yours…”
i really want one of those little bottles. they will look great next to my Day of the Dead dioramas.
As I understand it Chris worked in some capacity to prosecute Nazi war crimes— albeit under Soviet rule (in Poland). He’s rattled a story to me here and there. Sick shit.
